Training Institute Site: Portland State University Multicultural Center
On Friday, April 7 and Sunday, April 9, the Training Institute will be held at Portland State University’s Multicultural Center and surrounding classrooms.

The Multicultural Center is located in room 228 of Portland State University’s Smith Memorial Union. (www.culture.pdx.edu; Tel: 503-725-5342)

On Saturday, April 8, the Training Institute will be held in the cafeteria and 3rd floors of Neuberger Hall at Portland State University (across the way from the Multicultural Center/Smith Memorial Union.) All spaces are wheelchair accessible.

Programming for the Training Institute will be held from 9 AM–6:30 PM on Friday, April 7; 9 AM–9 PM on Saturday, April 8, (includes cultural performances/talent show in evening) and 9 AM–1:30 PM on Sunday, April 9. We will provide breakfast and lunch on Friday; breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast on Sunday.

Directions to Portland State University: Multicultural Center and Neuberger Hall

From University Place Hotel (310 W Lincoln St., Portland, OR 97201.)
The University Place Hotel is seven blocks from the Friday and Saturday Training Institute site. After exiting the hotel, turn left onto SW Lincoln St. Turn right on SW 4th Avenue. Walk three more blocks, and turn left on SW Harrison Street (there will be a US bank on the corner). Walk up SW Harrison Street for 3 more blocks. Turn right on SW Broadway St. The Smith Memorial Union will be on your left. The Multicultural center is on the 2nd floor in room 228. The It takes about 10-15 minutes to walk from the hotel to the site.

By Bus
Buses in the downtown Portland area are free.
From the Pioneer Place station, walk to the 5th Avenue bus mall. On 5th Avenue, find a “yellow rose” bus stop (the bus stop has a sign with a yellow rose)—all buses leaving the yellow rose bus stops will go to Portland State University. Get off at the Montgomery/Hall Street stop. Walk two blocks west (turn right) to Broadway. The Smith Memorial Center is on Broadway between Montgomery and Harrison St.
If you take a #8 South bus from Pioneer Place, the bus will drop you off in front of the Smith Memorial Center.

By car
There are two parking garages that are convenient to the Smith Memorial Center/Multicultural Center.
The University Center Garage is located on Harrison St. between 5th and 6th Avenue.
The Parking Structure #1 is located on 6th Ave. between Hall and Harrison St.
Parking fees are: $8 on Friday; $3 on Saturday, and free on Sunday.

Coming from Portland International Airport (PDX)
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION
At the Portland Airport, go down to the ground transportation level, where you can get onto the MAXRAIL. Buy a MAXRAIL ticket for $1.95, and take the Maxrail train from the airport to the Downtown Pioneer Place Stop. When you arrive at Pioneer Place, walk back 1 block to 5th Ave. At the 5th Ave. bus stop, get onto the #17 bus (going towards Holgate.) Fare for the bus is free. Get off at the 1st and Lincoln bus stop, which is right in front of the hotel. This should take about 1 hour.

University Place hotel is an estimated 19 minutes driving and 13 miles from the Portland airport.
