NNIRR joins dozens of groups in opposing SAFE Act in the House

NNIRR has joined dozens of other organizations today in opposing the dangerous SAFE Act (HR 2278), still pending in the House of Representatives. While groups in Washington and elsewhere have recently rallied for stalled action on immigration reform in the House, a letter with nationwide endorsers urges House leaders Boehner and Pelosi to stop any action on the SAFE Act, whether as a stand alone bill or as part of any other legislation.

House Democrats recently introduced an immigration reform bill in the House that includes the Senate's legalization proposal (along with other provisions, including a 'softer' border enforcement) but the bill has little to no chance of advancing.

The SAFE Act would drastically increase the criminalization of undocumented immigrants.
