National Prison Divestment Campaign
The National Network has joined a national campaign targeting the private prison construction industry, which promotes and profits from the incarceration of immigrant men, women and children and others in the U.S. and worldwide. Enlace, in partnership with community groups and unions across the US, is calling on all public and private institutions to divest their holdings in Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and GEO Group, America’s largest private prison corporations which have profited from billions in taxpayer money. Dignity not Detention Campaign to Repeal Mandatory Detention

NNIRR joins forces with Detention Watch Network (DWN) to urge Congress and the Obama Administration to repeal mandatory detention, which subjects thousands of community members to prolonged detention and separation from their families, including asylum-seekers and any non-citizen who has ever been convicted of a crime regardless of how long ago or the severity of the offense.
Affirm the Dignity & Humanity of All People: Drop the I-word!
The Applied Research Center and Colorlines.org have launched a public education campaign to eradicate the use of the word "illegals" from every-day use and public discourse. The i-word is a dehumanizing racial slur that opens the door to racial profiling and violence, and prevents a respectful and genuine debate on immigration. End Racial Profiling: Restore Civil Rights & Justice

NNIRR joins the Rights Working Group campaign to end racial and religious profiling, an unlawful practice pervasive in law enforcement agencies impacting communities of color across the spectrum or race, class, age, gender, religion, and citizenship or immigration status. Because of the increased collaboration between federal agencies and local police on immigration enforcement, immigrant communities and persons perceived to be "foreign" are particularly impacted by racial profiling, often leading to detention & deportation. DHS policing programs such as S-comm ("Secure Communities") creates an incentive for racial profiling by local police to catch and identify people for deportation. Read more...
